Welcome to Avenue Therapy Services, PLLC! We are a pediatric private practice that provides fun, motivating, and most of all, functional speech therapy for children of all ages. We pride ourselves in creating an individualized speech plan tailored to fit every child's needs. Our therapy practice at Avenue Therapy Services (ATS) is play based, strength focused, and family centered. We believe involving parents and caregivers is highly beneficial to therapy outcomes as they are often the most important and influential person in a child's life. MEET THE OWNER
Ashley Edgerton M.S., CCC-SLP is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologist and is Certified for Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology by The American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She attended North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology in 2014. She later attended North Carolina Central University where she received her Master’s of Science in Communication Disorders in 2017.
Ashley is extremely passionate about working with children, specifically the early intervention population (aged Birth to 3 years). Her work experience has involved providing clinical, school, and home-based therapy for children with speech-language needs; including, but not limited to, language delays/disorders, voice and fluency disorders, articulation disorders, Autism, and intellectual disabilities including Down syndrome.
Ashley maintains credentials as a Certified Autism Specialist with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards as of July 2021. She is passionate about helping her patients achieve their communication goals; thus, making a positive impact on the lives of themselves and their loved ones. She attends continuing education seminars/classes on a regular basis to further her knowledge on evaluation and treatment techniques. Ashley earned her first ASHA Award for Continuing Education (ACE) in January 2023 in recognition of her exceptional commitment to lifelong learning through earning 7.0 ASHA CEUs (70 hours).
When she is not providing skilled intervention to children, Ashley enjoys spending time with her loved ones, exercising, traveling, and trying new restaurants throughout North Carolina. It is important to Ashley that her clients get to know her as a person, not just as a clinician. She strives to create a warm and inviting atmosphere in her practice.
MEET MAISON
Maison is Ashley’s biggest inspiration and favorite nephew. At the age of 2, Maison was diagnosed as autistic. Since his diagnosis, Ashley has been enthusiastic about autism and learning more about all neurodivergent people.
Maison is currently 13 years old and uses an augmentative alternative communication (AAC) device to verbally express himself. He is the motivating force behind ATS.
